Mind-body medicine: a self-sustainable proposal that promotes health and prevents Burnout Syndrome in health professionals

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH, 2017), mind-body medicine explores the interactions between the brain, body, mind, behavior; the ways in which emotional, mental, social, spiritual factors, experiences, and behaviors can affect health. For the WHO (2014), health as a state of physical, mental and social well-being; it not only implies the absence of disease, but the balance between body, mind and soul. From this context, the present study aimed to determine how mind-body medicine based on mindfulness and self-compassion therapies reduces Burnout syndrome in health professionals. The methodology was qualitative, documentary, bibliographic, based on a content analysis on the benefits of mind-body medicine techniques, combining conventional therapies with holistic methods, stress management and exercise, resulting in the development of spiritual life to always healthy.
